Description
The Hardin County Attorney, Jenny Oldham, is hiring an Assistant County Attorney to prosecute misdemeanor criminal offenses as well as dependency neglect and abuse cases. This position will involve working with local law enforcement, schools, Child Protective Services and other community partners.
The Hardin County Attorney’s Office has an experienced staff of 32 people, including 9 attorneys with an average tenure of 14 years with the office. We have a culture based upon integrity, honesty and teamwork and pride ourselves on working collaboratively with our other criminal justice and county government partners.
The successful candidate should possess strong communication skills, a professional appearance and demeanor, mature judgment, and expect to work in a courtroom as well as try cases to a jury early in his/her career here. Experience is not necessary and 3L’s and those sitting for the Bar in July who are interested in becoming a prosecutor will be considered. Preference given to candidates willing to move/live in Hardin County.
Starting pay $55,000-$65,000, based upon candidate skill and experience. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, retirement and payment of local and state bar dues, yearly CLE’s and other training opportunities. Some candidates may qualify for student loan repayment programs.
